  1. "You'll probably think I'm making a lot of this up just to make me sound better than I really am or smarter or even luckier but I'm not." (p. 1)
Up until I read chapter 8 I couldn't find any redeeming qualities in Bone. I didn't completely get the meaning of this quote until then, he wasn't making himself better, smarter or luckier sounding. My view changed when her save Froggie.

"I said sure and went beck there and we smocked and talked a while and before the night was gone I knew that I had met the man who would become my best friend." (p.151)
I didn't pick this quote because I liked it, I picked it because it confused me. How was this guy any different than all the other guys he has smoked with? And how can he be so sure that this man will be his best friend not just another buddy he met on the road?

How was the guy he found on the bus any different than all the other guys he has smoked with?

  2. "Probably it would've been more polite if i'd've cleaned up the ridgeways' summer place a little before I split" (p.134)
I think that this shows how bone may not acted in any way to show that he has values but that he could if he was in a better situation because he thought this.

"And then there was the matter of Froggy which frankly I was now into viewing as a total green-light rescue operation, a definite Go."(p.142)
I picked this quote because i think this is the first time in the book that we see him doing something that is not just for himself but doing something for someone else's sake.

How long before the end of chapter eight, did they leave the bus and the too guys who owned it?

  3. "But now I was into accepting I-self as I-Man would say and as a result I didn't give a flying fuck what people thought when they looked at me." (200)
This quote shows Chappie's new maturity. Chappie has gained acceptance of himself and a high self-esteem. He accepts himself and embraces it.

"I was calm and picked up my backpack and I remembered thinking about the niner inside and I remember noticing with relief that I hadn't the slightest interest now in becoming a mass murderer." (208)
This quote refers Chappie's maturity and his ability of self control. It shows Chappie's manhood coming out. It takes a true man to take anger and to not let it out and perhaps Chappie sees the immaturity in Ken and decides to take on his true inner man.

  5. "Besides I had plenty of new stuff to think about now, especially about me and my real father" p. 225
He clearly still has a strong will to meet his father, and I think he really wants him to be different from what he's heard, even though he's not expecting him to be.

"Happy birthday in advance then, incase I don't make it to september" p. 212
This quote just sums up how he views life at this time in the book. He knows the lifestyle he's living is not a safe one and that he can die any day.
